Day 8 - Viana to Ventosa

Hope everyone is keeping well! Thanks a million for the texts and comments means a lot!

We got up this morning at what felt like the crack of dawn! At 6.30 when we were leaving it was 19c so it was shaping up to be a very hot day.. And by 8am it was 21c!

After two and a half hours of walking we landed in Logrono and stopped for a coffee and pastry (getting mad into the pastries over here they are amazing!).. After our short break we had to make our way through the city, it took nearly 2 hours in total. We made our way along a nice public park and by a reservoir. Next came Alto de la Grajera which is on the outskirts of the city passing by thousands of crosses as we climbed to the top!

Our next stop was in a town called Navarette. Here we took a 30 minute break and had a quick tortilla snack in a rock guitar bar! It was full of Phil Lynott and Rory Gallagher memorabilia! They're big fans! It may seem like I'm eating and drinking a lot but the pounds are actually dropping off me..

We were dreading the last 2 hours as it was +30c, so we kept our heads down. I had plenty of factor 50+ on me as well as my trust worthy cap! The lads are getting a decent colour but I'm nicely rare might try and get my hands on a bit of aftersun later!

Ventosa is the destination for tonight which is west of Logrono we landed around 2pm and went for a nap. It is now 33c and its 5pm! We are heading for our pilgrim meal in a few so looking forward to meeting more people!

We are hoping to get to Azorfa for tomorrow night.. Currently on schedule!

Thanks for the support,

Ger
