Day 15 - Hontanas to Boadilla del Camino

Hi all,

This morning we were on the road by 6am, it was still dark and pretty cold. We had climbed Castrojeriz by 8am and stopped for a quick brekkie!

After our short pit-stop we could hear a rumbling or crack sound and before we knew it we were in the middle of a thunder and lightening storm. It continued throughout our climb of Alto Mostelares where I got some amazing panoramic photos if I could only upload them! The descent brought us into the town of Itero de la Vega which is surrounded by millions of sunflowers.

We are going to be walking the Mesata for the next 3 days, which as I said yesterday is like an extremely flat desert. After leaving the region of Burgos today we are now in Palencia. We took a few short breaks as Jim is still pretty bad (taking some painkillers for the shin-splint) and Ed and Bob have very bad blisters on their feet. Its a miracle that I not too bad at all just tired this evening!

We crossed Canal Pisuerga which was beautiful and then arrived into Boadilla del Camino (900m) after 8 hours of walking, covering 28.6km. Looking forward to a few beers and the pilgrim meal later.

Talk to you all tomorrow,

Ger
